HGN Development Committee Meeting

  • 1212 Event Center 1212 6th Avenue North Nashville, TN, 37208 United States (map)

The HGN Development Committee April Meeting is cancelled.  While there are two items on the April Metro Historic Zoning Commission agenda, neither require HGN Development Committee input.  Looks like 606 Monroe street is going to be a flower/coffee shop.

606 Monroe - This project will renovate the existing house into a flower shop with a coffee counter... and an outdoor deck with seating.  It was put on the agenda just in case it needed Commission review, but the staff has been able to work it out as an administrative permit.  MHZC staff has been working with the architect to meet ADA requirements in the most sensitive manner possible.  It has been very tricky due to several issues, but they have come up with a solution that is both reversible and has a minimal impact on the historic structure.

1228 6th Ave - The reason it is going to the Commission rather than getting an administrative permit is because they are proposing an 8’ tall brick wall along a portion of the north property line.  They are asking for this because of potential noise/privacy issues from the restaurant at the corner of 6th and Monroe.  Staff is recommending approval of it and it will likely be on the consent agenda.
